I've been searching for the perfect curtains for awhile now. I wanted something that was different...and of course it had to be artsy to fit in with the rest of my house. I had an idea that I wanted each panel to be different but similar in that it carried the "picture" thru to the next panel. I couldn't find anything!!! I decided I would have to make my own. I haven't sewed since 8th grade, but I decided to watch some YouTube videos on how to setup my old sewing machine that was my husbands grandmas. Sure enough I found a video and it taught me just enough... Lol. I went to Menards and bought 2) 9x12 drop cloths I think they were around 19.00 each., I also purchase a roll of plastic dropcloth (i think it was around 4.00 so i could use under cloth ones when i started painting them. I then went to Michaels and bought craft paint and fabric medium (which is found right in the craft paint section...(you have to mix the medium to the craft acrylic paint to make sure it lasts after you wash your curtains)
Once I got home I washed/dried my drop cloths.
They were not really wrinkled to bad to I just went ahead and figured out what sizes I needed. I cut 4) 35x90 and 2) 35x85
I got my iron out and ironed where I wanted the hem and started sewing away.
It took awhile.
......................................
Once all sewed up- I started painting.
I think the medium is mixed 2 parts paint to 1 part medium
Here's what I came up with ( I just designed as I went... I didn't have any patterns only this inspiration from an Anthropologie worksite sign that I LOVED!
Once everything was dried- a couple days later I ironed everything...mainly to heat set the painted areas...
I hung each panel with the type of ring that slides onto the rod and just clips to the fabric.
All done! I'm pretty happy with them!
Have fun!!!

DIY Magnetic Makeup Palette and Case
As a makeup artist I'm always organizing and cleaning my supplies constantly- I looked into the z-palettes and LOVE them- but it's just so expensive! I thought to myself...self- you could make this! So I went to Wally world and the hunt began! First I came across these magnetic white boards $2.00 each... Hmmm... Magnetic...check! ( it even comes with magnets you can cut and attach to your depoted makeup pans!
So now I needed to find a slim clear case...I ended up going to Office depot and found the most amazing creation- Its called a Hanging Project Case $5.99 each- I was so happy- and actually said- "you've got to be kidding me" in the store- lol. The magnetic white board fits perfect!
I also bought a portable filing box $12.99 that holds the hanging cases- it has a small organizer on the top for all my disposable items (mascara wands, lip brushes and lip gloss wands, spatulas, q- tips etc)
I also bought a jewelry "bead" holder container $7.99 @ Walmart for my lipsticks, pigments & loose powder. I also use the little containers for alcohol or brush cleaner when I'm doing makeup- just dip my brushes quickly and then wipe them off. Obviously, I make sure to dump that out when I'm done otherwise I would have a huge mess to clean up!
I wanted to post a link to the blog that I used for depotting my makeup pans- with Depotting eyeshadows with out using heat- very simple!!!!!!

Help Portrait!!!!
Such a blessing to meet and work with so many amazing individuals! Help Portrait is basically about giving families something they may have never had...a family portrait, for free, it really gives you the opportunity to minister to peoples hearts and just show that you care for them. I had such a great time, and hope to be apart of it next year.
